Merino Wool & Cashmere Care Guide

Merino wool is a smooth, fine, luxury wool. In order to make your Merino garments last a long time it’s important to take good care of them. Here are a few tips on how to do that.

How to care for your T-shirt?

Only wash your T-shirts when necessary. Using your washing machine less is a good way to reduce your carbon footprint and will also improve the longevity of your garments. It’s a good idea to wash your clothes when you have enough to fill the machine and often simply hanging your T-shirt to air will reduce odours and allow another use.(It’s also important not to overfill the machine as it prevents proper circulation and the friction will damage the clothes. However, make sure you have enough to make a wash worthwhile.)

Cashmere Care

The qualities that make cashmere so precious also make it very delicate, so gentle handling is required to keep it looking new.

  • Hand-wash in cold water
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Let soak for a minimum of 30 minutes
  • Rinse well with room temperature water
  • Lay flat to dry (this can take several days)
  • When storing, fold and lay flat—never hang cashmere
